Information and Cyber Security is a complex issue and deals with the confidentiality, integrity and availability of data. Moreover, IT governance is even more complicated, and in Information and Cyber Security terms, one has to think about the whole enterprise. The entire organisation includes all the possible combinations of physical and cyber assets, all the possible combinations of intranets, extranets and internets that might consist of an extended network of business partners, vendors, customers, and others. Therefore, Information and Cyber Security are crucial components of governance. Furthermore, as information technology and information increasingly become the strategic enablers of organisational activity, effective IT and information assets management becomes a critical strategic concern for boards of directors.
